Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
I see that Fury is doing the typical traveller thing of leaving a trail online to 'prove' that he wanted the fight all along when it eventually gets cancelled....
Bob Arum says overnight it is dead in the water as due diligence from Saudi Arabia will take months and months.
Eddie Hearn staking his reputation in the fact it will happen.
Why are Arum and Fury putting time limits on the fight as if it is Joshua who is desperate for the fight. Surely the lying pikey who feigned a touch of SAD to take spotlight away from drug ban is running scared and knows if he loses, his legacy will be fucked whereas Joshua will always be looked upon as a great sportsman .

What do you lot think? Announced in next 2 weeks or called off?

Joshua .... great sportsman? ha ha

The MONEY means it will happen , its just the normal politics and jockeying beforehand.
I know its less money but hopefully it happens in England rather than as a sportswashing event for some towel heads.

Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
I think it will happen eventually but, I think we can forget about it happening in the UK as Fury has stated he never wants to fight here again which is a bit bizarre!

I believe that if Fury is in the same mindset as against Wilder he will win the fight. However, he still has the demons in him and I just get the feeling he doesn't fancy the fight as it could jeopardise his legacy!

Only my opinion of course.

Lato

I think you are over-thinking this.

Fury habitually blurts out (verbally or on social media) the first thing that comes into his head and regularly contradicts himself with consecutive comments.

Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
It'll happen.

By a considerable margin, the biggest payday either of them will ever get.

It will happen. Money talks and the sponsors are ready.

southbankbornnbred 10:51 Fri Apr 30
Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
And I think it might even happen here in the UK - possibly Cardiff (Fury seems obsessed with not fighting Joshua at Wembley).

The sponsors want this fight and are even putting a premium on a UK-based bout. The Yanks also prefer the UK, ahead of Saudi, because of the time differences.

The fight will happen unless one of the fighters is a fool (quite possible in boxing). The venue is still up in the air.

Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
To me, it looks like Fury isn't confident about this fight, as all the issues that arise seem to be from his end.

Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
I'd take most of it with a pinch of salt, though, Block.

EVERYBODY in this loop is angling for the biggest share they can get of the biggest payday they will ever have. And not just the fighters.

Everybody knows that this would be a 'mega' fight, commercially (if not in terms of talent). So there's a lot of smoke and mirrors ahead of any deal getting signed.

And, don't forget, there's a certain promotion company/organisation with their teeth into one of the fighters, which wants to do as much of its business out of the public eye as possible. That's causing a lot of nervousness among sponsors with big paychecks and reputations etc.

Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
Not really, Block.

Hearns came out all over the media and said it was all agreed and done. Warren immediately said it wasn't because they don't even have a venue. Now Arum has confirmed the same thing and Hearns has gone silent.

The evidence is that Hearns is full of shit, not that Fury is dodging.

Block 11:20 Fri Apr 30
Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
Surface son, the "deal" has been agreed, Hearne has repeatedly suggested venues have been presented to the Fury team, but all they do is come out and say no venue has been decided.

Joshua has been training like a beast for this for months, whilst Fury was apparently smashing beers down his throat.

southbankbornnbred 11:20 Fri Apr 30
Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
I'll say it, because too many daft folk in the media won't:

It's no surprise that Fury's camp would prefer the fight to take place somewhere like Saudi, and certainly outside of the UK. Because of the attention that would turn on MGM, Daniel Kinahan and its/his money if the bout were to be held here.

Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
Lol saying that a traveller isn't full of shit. Look into his so called depression and the timing of it with his drug charge and the fact the farmer who said that they ate contaminated meat from his farm then came out and said he has been paid to lie but that had not received the money. Fury is full of shit. Hearn is doing his upmost to get it on and cannot understand why Arum and Warren and fury to a degree are being negative and saying they will move on. Reason for me is that if AND IT IS an If tyson loses, they know that Dazn and match room the most powerful pornoters on the planet will have all belts.that is my opinion. And will call the shots. If Joshua loses, arum and Warren still need dazn with all the money down the line. Just opinions anyway. I think fury loses. Think he hit is prime and will now be past it.

dealcanvey 11:23 Fri Apr 30
Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
Joshua signed a 10 fight deal with Matchroom in 2016. Turns out this one would be fight number 10.

Hearn creams the cow for as long as possible. Even chucked in an extra fight for one last bumper pay day.

We talk about agents in football but the likes of Hearn are on another level.

This fight should and could have happened years ago.

If this dont happen it will be greed and nothing else that stops it.

No one in their right mind, especially Joshua or Fury are running away from a 75 million pay day.

I was thinking similar, that line of 'influence' is at play along the way

Block 11:29 Fri Apr 30
Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
How could the fight have happened years ago, Fury went on a mental one and was banned from the sport.

I like Fury, and can relate on the drug aspect of his life, but something really irritates me about him, he's all bluster and hot air.

He loses to Joshua for me, Fury think's he's "made it" because of his win against Klitschko and his performances against Wilder, Joshua just seems a lot more motivated in my opinion.

Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
At the moment both camps are playing around. The fights will happen but not before this pair have squeezed as much money out of the mugs as possible.

Btw, ignore the result of their first fight, when it happens, they will both be super motivated for the follow up.

Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
Block.

Fury is a world champion, has earnt millions and is expected to earn stupid money from the Joshua fights. He has every right to think he has made it because he has.

So has Joshua. Win or lose.

I dont buy that professional boxers run from eachother especially when you look at the numbers they are expected to make.

These two are probably mates behind the scenes.

What I do buy is that promotors pick and chose when these fights take place for their own personal gain. No one elses.

Not the performing enhancing drug aspect of his life, you can't.

Re: Joshua Vs Fury - will it happen?
Deal, Joshua has every belt bar from the one Fury has, Fury has only fought 2 decent opponents in the last 5 years not taking anything away from his ability though.

Joshua has beaten far better opponents, for Fury to be judged upon the top heavyweights in modern history he needs to fight Joshua 1 way or another, but I get the feeling he's not up for it.
